ICTSI Georgia, Batumi Sea Port co-host 6th Black Sea Ports and Shipping

The Port of Batumi in Georgia is this year´s host of the largest annual maritime transport conference and exhibition in the Black Sea-Caucasus region.
International Container Terminal Services, Inc.'s (ICTSI) subsidiary Batumi International Container Terminal LLC (BICT) is co-hosting the 6th Black Sea Ports and Shipping International Conference and Exhibition on 17 - 18 May at the Sheraton Batumi Hotel, together with the Batumi Sea Port Ltd. (BSPL).
'We are glad to bring to Georgia this year's edition of Black Sea Ports and Shipping. Having this event in Batumi further cements Batumi's stature as a key port in the Black Sea-Caucasus region. As the regional markets grow, we find the urgent need to collaborate and openly discuss our maritime transport concerns in the region,' Hans-Ole Madsen, ICTSI Senior Vice President for EMEA Region.
'The Black Sea Ports and Shipping conference is that venue where all stakeholders could fellowship and exchange ideas on how we could best work together in promoting the region to the world,' he adds.
The two-day conference will feature 30 speakers addressing topical issues and challenges covering global transportation and logistics. Around 300 local and international delegates are expected to gather in Batumi.
Invited to open the conference are Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Adjara, and Giorgi Gakharia, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. Meanwhile, aside from Mr. Madsen, Nikoloz Gogoli, BICT Managing Director, and Murat Jumadillaiyev, BSPL Director General, will be the key officials representing the hosting organizations during the opening.
Close to 40 private companies, organizations and government agencies have signed as exhibitors to the Batumi event.
