Provident Hungary, a leading provider of home credit and part of International Personal Finance Plc, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded for its Global Sustainability Leadership by The World Sustainability Congress. In addition, the international jury recognised Botond Szirmák, Country Manager of Provident Hungary, for his outstanding contribution in the individual leadership category.

The World Sustainability Congress is an international organisation that promotes sustainability best practice in publicly-listed businesses, non-profits and governmental sectors. The annual Congress was hosted by Dubai this year and was attended by the initiative's patron, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

Provident Hungary received the prestigious award for its successful sustainability programme which focuses on responsible lending and transparency. Additionally the company has developed effective corporate responsibility initiatives ranging from community investment and employee volunteering to environmental protection.

Botond Szirmák, Country Manager of Provident Hungary, received the CEO of the Year award for his commitment towards sustainability principles both inside and outside the Company.

This is the latest in a series of recent award wins for Provident Hungary, including recognition as one of Hungary's 'Most Excellent Companies' by Investors in People. Earlier in 2017 it was voted Financial Service Provider of the Year in Eastern and Central Europe and was named a Hungarian Superbrand, one of the country's leading consumer brands for the fifth consecutive year.

For the six months ended 30 June 2017, IPF's Southern European business, which includes Hungary and Romania, had 535,000 customers and credit issued was £130.4M.
