TOKYO-September 25, 2015-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that IIJ modular data center 'co-IZmo/I' and NEC Corporation IA server 'Express5800 series' were awarded 'Critical Environment Future Thinking' at the ceremony for 'DCD Asia Pacific Awards 2015' held on September 16, 2015 in Singapore.

The 'Critical Environment Future Thinking Award' is about recognizing the innovation and thinking that is shaping the next generation of cutting edge data center solutions. IIJ modular data center 'co-IZmo/I' and NEC IA server 'Express5800 series' operable at 40 degree Celsius (104 degree Fahrenheit) combined were awarded for its ability to realize a whole new level of environmental conscious data center in various environments, including humid environment like South East Asia. The combination of the two can offer energy-saving, structurally dense designed data center that is easy to scale-out, the ideal infrastructure for cloud computing.

IIJ will actively continue to promote eco-friendly data center solutions for the customers' business in Japan and overseas.

In 2011, IIJ opened the Matsue Data Center Park -the Japan's first commercial modular data center with outside-air cooling system.
