TOKYO-November 21, 2016-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, announced that today it will begin selling its prepaid SIM card package, Japan Travel SIM, which provides a mobile data communications service for foreign visitors and people temporarily returning to Japan at 14 stores located along JR Central line between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka stations. Sales will start today at the stores which are operated by Tokai Kiosk Company.

Japan Travel SIM is a packaged, ready-to-use, data-only SIM card that includes an allotment for high-speed data transmissions. Customers can easily start data communications by simply inserting the SIM card into their SIM-free device and configuring the settings, and then registering their personal information (name, date of birth, nationality, and passport number).

Using the Service

  1. Insert the SIM card in the device with which it will be used.
  2. Configure the device for the mobile network (including APN)
  3. When a web browser is launched, a user registration page will be displayed. The service can be used immediately once the necessary information is registered (name, date of birth, nationality, passport number)
