NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann Worldgroup today announced that Kate MacNevin has been promoted to Global President, MRM//McCann the agency's top global position, expanding the Chief Operating Officer responsibilities she took on in January 2016. Also, effectively immediately, Joyce Karel has joined as President, MRM//McCann U.S. East, leading the agency's New York and Princeton offices. Kate and Joyce bring extensive marketing communications leadership experience to their new roles.

MacNevin first joined McCann in Toronto in 2006, was named to head the agency's Canadian General Motors business in 2009 and then moved to Detroit in 2012, where she became Executive Director of Global Operations for Commonwealth//McCann, the global advertising agency of record for the Chevrolet brand.  Since being named MRM//McCann's Global COO in Jan. 2016, she has led the team through a period of unprecedented business expansion and creative growth. Over the past year, MRM//McCann won its first Cannes Lions Grand Prix as well as a plethora of other creative awards, including 12 additional Cannes Lions, three Effie Awards, two One Show wins, six CLIOS and one Webby Award. Under MacNevin's leadership, MRM//McCann has added several clients to their roster, including GSK, BASF, Mitsubishi Electric and Benjamin Moore, growing the agency overall by 10 percent.

Additionally, MRM//McCann was designated for the first time as a Leader in Gartner Inc.'s annual "Magic Quadrant for Global Digital Marketing Agencies" report. And earlier this year, MacNevin was also honored with a She Runs It Impact Award, presented by the industry group formerly known as Advertising Women of New York. 

Karel joins MRM//McCann from Wunderman, where she most recently served as Director of Client Services and a Global Client Leader. She previously had held positions at Mullen and Ogilvy & Mather as well as client-side roles at Whirlpool Corporation.
