Sant'Antonino, Switzerland, March 6, 2017-The Interroll Group, the world's leading manufacturer of key products for internal logistics, is presenting a new, intelligent control system for checkout counters at EuroShop 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Additionally, visitors to the March 5-9 international trade fair for retail will be the first to see the company's high-performance crossbelt sorter, which forms the heart of the automated goods distribution centers that efficiently process e-commerce applications.
The new Softstart Control solution for checkout counters which Interroll will be showcasing at the Düsseldorf exhibition center is a brand new control system that assumes numerous control functions and is easy to install. Just one Softstart Control can be used to control up to two belt conveyors and the corresponding elements such as sensors, foot pedals and checkout lights.
The new solution also guarantees smooth running and gentle braking of the belt, even when it is heavily laden, without having to dramatically reduce the torque. The goods standing on the belt no longer fall over, which prevents goods damage and spillage in the checkout area, as well as downtime and delays in supermarket operations.
Together with the proven Interroll cassettes and extensive accessories, Softstart Control is a plug-and-play solution that is easy to install and simplifies the construction and commissioning of a checkout counter considerably. On exhibit at EuroShop will be examples of the Interroll Center Drive Cassettes which, thanks to a small deflection diameter of just 17 mm, guarantee the smooth and reliable transfer of goods between two adjacent checkout belts. Like all Interroll cassettes, the motor, drive mechanics, suspension and belt conveyor are all implemented as a plug-and-play solution in one compact unit.
Over 60 percent of all checkout counters around the world are now fitted with key components from Interroll. Customers include Walmart, Tesco, Coop, Metro, Lidl, Aldi and Edeka.
In addition to presenting its solutions for checkout counters, Interroll is also presenting its high-performance sorters, which have proven their worth in the booming e-commerce sector, among others, for many years. Interroll Crossbelt Sorters ensure automated sorting of goods and are particularly reliable, cost-effective and quick during operation. Depending on the area of application, they can achieve a goods throughput of 2,000 to 15,000 units per hour. This solution is already being used by leading companies around the world, including Amazon, DHL, Fedex, Fiege, Swiss Post and Zalando.
EuroShop is an important international industry event for presenting innovations and discussing trends. The trade fair is held in Düsseldorf every three years. Interroll's customers and partners will be able to find the Swiss company in Hall 14, Stand A22.
