September 29, 2017

The Intertek AIM Engineering High Energy Piping (HEP) Symposium is open to all interested in improving equipment reliability and safety through data, inspection, and knowledge management. This symposium is planned to be held at the Intertek AIM Engineering office in Santa Clara, CA, where temperature averages in 60F in winter and located in the heart of Silicon Valley on January 15 - January 18, 2018.

Register Today!

Why you should attend this meeting?
Major failures in HEP systems over the past 30 years highlight the need to establish an effective maintenance and inspection program to prevent future failures. These failures can result in personnel injuries and fatalities, as well as damaged equipment and loss of power generation. To avoid these catastrophic failures, power plant operators need to maintain the safe and reliable operation of their high energy piping systems.
During this symposium, you will learn how HEP systems' integrity is affected by factors such as high temperature creep, fatigue, creep-fatigue, thermal shock, ratcheting, flow accelerated corrosion and load cycles, and how to deal with them. You will also learn about latest changes in the Code requirements, what other utilities do to tackle these issues and how to manage your data. You will have the opportunity to ask about your specific problems or questions to our subject experts.
Who should attend this meeting?
Anyone who wants to learn more about how High Energy Piping is an integral part of an asset integrity management program. Whether he/she has responsibility for boilers, piping systems, pressure vessels, or any high energy piping systems in power plants, refineries, pipelines, and chemical plants.

Presentations will include:

  • Introduction to HEP
  • Stress Basics
  • Damage and Failure Mechanisms
  • ASME B31.1 Power Piping Code
  • Supports and Components
  • High Energy Piping Walkdowns
  • Corrective Actions - Travel and Load Adjustments
  • Stress Analysis Part 1
  • Selection of Examination Locations
  • Non-destructive Examinations
  • Data Management
  • Special Topics (including Grade 91, Fitness-for-Service evaluations, FAC)
  • Stress Analysis Part 2
  • Future Developments

Early registration cost is $700/per attendee through November 1, 2017, $850 afterwards. A discount of $100 per registrant is available to teams of 3 or more who register together for the conference. Deadline to register is December 12, 2017.
For more information on the High Energy Piping Symposium or on our other services contact the Intertek AIM Engineering Team by emailing [email protected], or call us at 337-257-3650.
