Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has appointed Carol Gordon as Allocation Services Manager as the company continues to extensively expand its team in 2014.

Ms Gordon will manage a team of consultants providing hydrocarbon allocation services to a large number of UK-based and international clients, helping to accurately track oil and gas ownership from production to point of sale.

Beginning her career as an apprentice offshore technician, Ms Gordon has 24 years' experience in the industry. She joined Intertek in 2010 as a Technical Consultant before  progressing to the role of Senior Consultant. Following this, she was promoted to lead the hydrocarbon allocation services team from the company's Aberdeen base.

Ms Gordon said: "Intertek's expertise in allocation ensures oil and gas companies realise the value from their production. This is critical for operators around the world, particularly in the North Sea, as production decline and shared infrastructure underlines the need for all parties to get their fair entitlement.

"In my new role, I aim to grow this area of the business by recruiting several new consultants in the next few months and further developing the team of experts we have. Covering a number of disciplines, we want to offer clients the complete and integrated package to provide every aspect of allocation services."

Raymond Pirie, Vice President of Intertek's global Exploration and Production business line, said: "The promotion of Ms Gordon to Allocation Services Manager comes as we drive forward this area of the business which is of vital importance to oil and gas operators across the board. With her wealth of experience, we will enhance our capabilities in this area, linking with our international allocation teams for a truly global offering."

Intertek's hydrocarbon allocation services include allocation engineering, hydrocarbon value realisation, product measurement, production management and reporting.
