LONDON - 10 May 2012 - INTERXION HOLDING NV,
(NYSE: INXN), a leading European provider of carrier-neutral
colocation data centre services, today announced that
VPS.net, part of the UK2 Group and a global leader in cloud
hosting, has chosen to host its cloud services for France
and Germany in Interxion's data centres in Paris
and Frankfurt
.
VPS.net offers Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to its
customers. The basis of its cloud hosting services lies in
providing low-cost, flexible, and scalable solutions to
these customers. To maintain its rapid pace of global roll
out, VPS.net needed to be able to scale up quickly and to
engage with each new market in an informed and relevant
way. Interxion's strong European presence helped VPS.net to
navigate the commercial differences and varying rules,
regulations, and laws that are inherent in doing business
across Europe.
By locating in Interxion's cloud hubs, VPS.net and its
customers can derive business value from close proximity to
other cloud service providers, potential customers and
connectivity providers. With over 400 carriers, access to
over 2,000 ISPs, 18 of Europe's leading public Internet
exchanges, in multiple sites, Interxion's connectivity
options are unparalleled across Europe.
Rus Foster, Managing Director, VPS.net, commented, "By
working with Interxion, we gain access to valuable
expertise, top-class facilities, and comprehensive support.
Thanks to Interxion's local knowledge, we've gained a
valuable understanding of customer mind-sets in these
markets, and that has helped us ramp up operations in just
three weeks. Interxion delivers real value-add through the
community of other providers and like-minded companies it
can put us in touch with."
Vincent in't Veld, Director of Cloud Segment, Interxion,
added, "Based around major business and consumer centres
for fast access to local markets, we believe our cloud hubs
provide an excellent gateway into European markets.
Customers like VPS.net can achieve the capacity and
flexibility they need to grow their business. A single,
consistent SLA across all countries makes it easy to extend
across Europe, and our local support teams provide the
tailored insight to make expansion a success."
Pleased with the support it has received in moving quickly
to capitalise on market opportunities, VPS.net considers
France and Germany as the first phase of its European
expansion, before moving into Southeast Asia.
