DALLAS, Sept. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Invitation Homes Inc. (NYSE: INVH) ("Invitation Homes" or the "Company") today announced a preliminary update of the potential effects of Hurricane Irma on its Florida and Atlanta markets.

"Our hearts go out to all of the communities and people impacted by Hurricane Irma," said John Bartling, Invitation Homes' President and CEO. Mr. Bartling continued, "First and foremost, we are grateful that we have not received any reports of injuries to our residents or associates as a result of the storm. Additionally, because the storm weakened early in its landfall, it didn't affect our markets to the extent originally predicted. Our teams are actively working to identify homes with weather-related damage and to support our residents. We look forward to aiding the rebuilding effort in the communities we serve."

At this time, all of the Company's regional offices affected by Irma are open, and leasing activity has resumed in all markets.

The safety of residents and associates remains Invitation Homes' top priority, and the Company is also working with its associates, residents, and vendors to complete a detailed evaluation of portfolio damage. Varying degrees of damage were incurred by homes in the Company's Florida and Atlanta markets as a result of Hurricane Irma, with most of the reports to date consisting of limited damage to roofing, fencing, and landscaping. The Company does not have any markets that were affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Invitation Homes carries insurance for wind damage, flood damage, and business interruption. The Company expects to provide a damage estimate and estimated insurance recoveries after it has more fully assessed the damage caused by the storm.
