Aspidistra Software, which specialises in creating B2B ecommerce software for Sage systems, has turned to iomart for secure private cloud to support its rapid growth.

The South West of England company is growing so quickly that its owner expects it to reach £1 million turnover in the next three years. Owner Paul Dorey says the difficulties encountered by many companies in managing their business-to-business ecommerce operations online have led to a surge in sales of Aspidistra's unique Shopfront software.

He said: "Businesses often have complex pricing, discounting, ordering, stock and delivery information in their Sage Systems. Our software integrated to Sage makes it seamlessly available to their account customers through their websites."

iomart provides Aspidistra Software with a private VMware cloud solution including backup, disaster recovery and remote desktop.

Paul Dorey explained: "We use a private cloud to support our software which is much more secure and cost effective than public cloud. This gives us greater control on how we allocate resources to our customers, allowing them to concentrate on their business."

Aspidistra Software has over 120 customers in the UK and Ireland. These range in scale from small companies with a few employees using Sage 50, to large groups of companies employing hundreds of people. Customers range from small businesses like The Old Bag Company in Devon, to Belron the parent company of Autoglass.

Aspidistra has already grown turnover to over £0.5 million and expects 40% year-on-year growth for the next couple of years.

Paul Dorey added: "We've already expanded our range of products to integrate to Sage 200 the mid-market offering and Sage 1000 the enterprise offering and we are looking to expand to other Sage products both in the UK and internationally. We're bringing on new customers all the time and hope to hit £1 million turnover by 2017."
