iomart is delighted to report that it has secured a place on a new framework created by the Scottish Government to procure hosting services.

The new framework supports the Digital Public Services Strategy for Scotland and in particular the Data Hosting and Data Centre Strategy for the Scottish Public Sector. According to the Scottish Government the new framework aims to 'deliver a direct, efficient, sustainable, cost effective procurement route to key hosting services and will meet the growing transition to Cloud Services by organisations in the Scottish Public Sector.'

iomart, whose headquarters are in Glasgow, has made significant investment in providing the data centre infrastructure, accreditations and expertise to deliver a wide range of secure cloud services. The recent acquisition of public cloud consultancy SystemsUp has given iomart the ability to engage at a strategic level with the public sector and act as a trusted service advisor on cloud strategy.

Colin Speirs, Public Sector Bid Manager for iomart, said: "This is an important move by the Scottish Government to help dispel the technical and security concerns the public sector still has around the adoption of cloud services. We can help organisations manage the balance between legacy, on-premise IT systems and services delivered via the cloud. We have invested in the skills to not only deliver hybrid cloud services to stringent standards but to help create the right strategies to ensure successful management of these services."

iomart will deliver a wide range of hosting services as part of the new framework including Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Community Cloud and Co-location. iomart owns and operates a network of UK data centres including a 1000m² resilient and secure data centre in Glasgow. It has been accredited for the UK Government's G-Cloud framework since 2012.

iomart's public sector team is attending the Scotland Excel and Supplier Development Programme event being held at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on Thursday 11 June. To find out more click here.
