In her new role as Iron Mountain’s CTO, Russo will provide the leadership, vision and roadmap for how technology can further strengthen the company’s current and future product offerings, service delivery and overall business. Russo will serve as a member of Iron Mountain’s senior executive team reporting directly to President and CEO William L. Meaney.

“We’re very excited Fidelma is joining our team,” said Meaney. “She is a proven technologist and business leader that will help us to further integrate technology into our product offerings and service operations so that we stay ahead of our customers’ evolving storage and information management needs. Our customers increasingly want greater control over and value from the information and other assets they trust us to store and manage. Fidelma and her team will ensure we deliver on those expectations, creating transformative business opportunities for both our customers and Iron Mountain.”

In her most recent role, Russo led Dell EMC’s Enterprise Storage and Software Solutions team. She was able to drive significant business growth through focused product sales, investments in disruptive technologies and markets, and through workforce globalization and service delivery automation.

Prior to EMC, she was Chief Operating Officer for Sepaton/HDS, a provider of storage and software products and services, where she drove significant year-over-year growth for the company’s intelligent data protection products and also helped raise more than $25 million in venture funding to spur that growth. She has also held senior business and technology leadership roles at HP, Sun Microsystems/Oracle, Data General Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.

“I’m thrilled to join Iron Mountain,” said Russo. “The company has a reputation and track record for security and trust that is unparalleled, helping its customers to succeed by protecting what matters most to them. And Iron Mountain shares my passion for leveraging technology to drive innovation in improving and enhancing products and services to create a better customer experience. That passion, and commitment to bringing it to life, have me excited to join the company.”

Russo earned an engineering degree from University College Cork (Ireland) and holds a masters in Computer Science from Boston University. She holds two US patents and serves on the board of Wolters Kluwer BV.
