ISS Denmark has regained the role as service provider to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR by signing a new three-year contract. As a special part of the agreement, ISS Denmark will establish a café at DR's headquarter, Café Glad (Café Happy), which will be run by mentally challenged employees.

From 1 January 2016, ISS will once again deliver catering and cleaning services at DR's locations in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, and in the second-biggest city, Aarhus, as well as cleaning services at all of DR's 11 locations across the country.

Poul Holt Pedersen, Property Manager at DR, said that it was the quality of the delivery and ISS' ability to meet DR's needs in an innovative way that made ISS Denmark regain the contract:

'ISS Denmark's offer particularly stood out from the other competitor's in terms of quality. I look forward to the collaboration'.

As part of the new collaboration, ISS Denmark will run and operate two cafes at DR headquarters. At one of the cafes, Café Glad, guests receive a special service from mentally challenged staff with the supervision of a trained social pedagogue.

Divisional Director of Catering Henrik Tornager said:

'At ISS, we have a tradition of helping people with special needs into the labourmarket. With Café Glad, we thought outside of the box and tried to meet customer requirements in a different way'.

'I am proud that we can realise a project like this in collaboration with DR and I am looking forward to experience it live', Tornager added.
