ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter "ITOCHU") announced today that work on the multi-tenanted logistics center it has been developing in the city of Kashiwa (Chiba prefecture) was completed on April 15. Last year, ITOCHU signed a property lease agreement with major Japanese logistics provider Hitachi Transport System Ltd. (headquartered in Koto-ku, Tokyo; Yasuo Nakatani, President & CEO; hereinafter "HTS"). The agreement covers the entire center, which ITOCHU has today handed over to HTS.

The first multi-tenanted logistics center developed by ITOCHU, the center is located within Shonan Industrial Park in Kashiwa (Chiba prefecture), which is ideal for convenient deliveries across a wide area thanks to its outstanding access to transport links such as the Kashiwa Interchange (approx. 10km from the center), Joban Expressway and National Route 16. The center has been designed to enable efficient warehouse operations. While the first floor features raised-floor loading bays for trucks, the interior of the building is equipped with vertical conveyors and cargo elevators.

As announced in September last year, ITOCHU has set out a policy of actively developing multi-tenanted logistics facilities in order to cater more precisely to customers' needs and changes in the supply chain. It intends to invest JPY 100 billion in logistics facilities in the future, with the aim of establishing them as superior investment assets.
