ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter "ITOCHU") opened ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE in the CI Plaza, a commercial facility situated next to ITOCHU's Tokyo Head Office, in October 2012. The gallery was part of ITOCHU's social contribution activities, with the aim of developing the future generation through art, contributing to the local community, and promoting both local and international art and culture. Various exhibitions have since been held in the space.

"Bicycle Expo 2015: Bicycle Town Aoyama" will be held once again at ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE in May during bike month. This year, a special selection of bicycles will be exhibited on the two major themes of "Aoyama×Bicycle" and "Diversity×Bicycle."

Aoyama is an attractive area with favorable environment for cyclists such as the Gaien ginkgo boulevard along with a large number of shops selling bicycles and related goods, and having been declared by the Aoyama Shop Owners Association in 2009 to be a "bike-rider-friendly district". This year's Bicycle Expo will exhibit "The Aoyama Bicycle", based on conceptual designs by nine leading cycle shops in Aoyama, with the aim of expressing the theme "Aoyama×Bicycle" representing a fusion of the town of Aoyama and the bicycle.

"Diversity×Bicycle" highlights the diversity of the bicycle, exploring its potential in a wide range of roles, from means of transportation to racing, hobby, and fashion, as well as looking ahead to the bicycles of the near future. Transcending age, gender, and national borders, the exhibition will show what kind of bicycles are being used for what purpose, the environment surrounding bicycles, and the fashion aspect of bicycles. The exhibition will also show how bicycles are being used as community tools overseas and introduce interesting experiments being conducted abroad, as well as presenting the potential of bicycles that can be expected in the near future.
