Carolyn McCall appointed ITV Chief Executive

ITV plc today announces that Carolyn McCall is to join the Board as Chief Executive.

Carolyn joins ITV from easyJet where she has been Chief Executive for seven years. Prior to easyJet, Carolyn was Group Chief Executive of the Guardian Media Group.

Carolyn takes up her role at ITV on January 8 2018.

During her tenure at the airline, she brought a customer focussed approach to the business and redefined what passengers now expect from short haul flights. easyJet's innovative approach has driven both passenger loyalty and growth and delivered sustained success for easyJet's shareholders.

Carolyn has been a non-executive director of Burberry since 2014. She also sits on the Board of the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and is a Trustee at the Royal Academy. Carolyn has also held non-executive director roles with Lloyds TSB (2008 - 2009), Tesco (2005 - 2008) and New Look (1999 - 2005).

Note to Editors

1. As Chief Executive of ITV, Carolyn will receive an annual salary of £900,000 and a pension allowance of 15% of salary. She will also be able to participate in the Company's existing annual bonus plan up to a maximum of 180% of salary, and the long-term incentive plan up to 265% of salary. This provides broadly the same remuneration opportunity as to ITV's previous CEO. Carolyn will also receive awards to compensate for remuneration arrangements forfeited on leaving her previous employer. All remuneration arrangements are consistent with the terms of the Directors' Remuneration Policy approved by shareholders at the AGM in May 2017.

2. ITV confirms that no further disclosure is required under Listing Rule 9.6.13.

3. In 2016, Carolyn was awarded a Damehood in the New Year's Honour's List for services to the aviation industryand decorated with France's highest merit, the Légion d'honneur.She was presented with an OBE for services to women in business in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honours List. The same year also saw her named Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year. Carolyn was also chair of Opportunity Now for four years from 2005, and is a former President of Women in Advertising and Communications London.
