Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading provider of application performance and security resilience solutions, and C&S Group have signed a collaboration agreement to address the challenging tasks of safeguarding, validating and optimizing automotive Ethernet communications in emerging Electrical/Electronic architectures.

The connected car is a reality with Ethernet networking quickly becoming a standard feature. As vehicles use more information and communications technology, automotive manufacturers and suppliers are seeking expertise and solutions to ensure application performance and security resillience in key functions and features, including infotainment and driver assistance.

“Ethernet is the future communication protocol for in-vehicle systems, and verifying that Ethernet implementations are conforming to accepted industry standards is one of the most important checks on quality, safety and performance,” said David Bollati, president, C&S Group. “Our partnership with Ixia offers our customers an easy and accurate solution to fulfill the highest standards for quality, robustness and compliance.”

To ensure Ethernet implementations will operate correctly, automotive manufacturers must verify that their in-vehicle systems and products conform to the IEEE and AUTOSAR standards, and comply with legacy systems.

“Standardization is essential to accelerate new, innovative in-vehicle communications, reduce time-to-market and ensure availability and interoperability,” said Jim Smith, vice president of service provider and NEMs solutions marketing, Ixia. “Our partnership with C&S plays a key role in helping global automotive manufacturers and their suppliers minimize risk by leveraging industry expertise with leading conformance and validation solutions to meet the rigorous automotive industry requirements.”

With Ixia’s 18 years of leadership in Ethernet validation and C&S’s research and expertise in automotive communications, they together offer an industry test lab and solutions that automotive manufacturers and suppliers can turn to validate and conform to standards.
