Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA), a leading provider of network testing, visibility, and security solutions, and SnapRoute Inc., a leading open source network stack provider, will provide attendees at the OCP Summit, March 8th and 9th in Santa Clara, first-hand demonstrations of the technology needed to test and validate high-performance network equipment prior to deployment in a hyperscale datacenter.

Enterprises designing a hyperscale cloud datacenter architecture, with customized network services running on disaggregated platforms, cannot rely on traditional equipment suppliers to test network devices to support their specific requirements. A high-performance, scalable datacenter architecture requires seamless network integration with automation and orchestration systems, as well as the ability to easily adapt specific network services to meet changing needs and technologies.

Ixia and SnapRoute have worked together to develop a series of live demonstrations at the OCP Summit leveraging key technology from each organization. These demonstrations will show enterprises how to design and implement an agile, scalable datacenter, and optimized network, that is fully tested and can easily support customized network services as well as the continuous development and validation required in a rapidly evolving environment.

“Developing customized high-performance networking, based on disaggregated technology like FlexSwitch and OCP hardware, creates enormous value. It also involves complex protocols, like BGP and ECMP, that need to interoperate at scale, and with existing and future switches and routers, creating major challenges,” stated Scott Westlake, Vice President of Business Development for Ixia. “It’s critical to test and validate designs with proven and robust tools, starting early in the development cycle. Operators of the world’s largest networks and datacenters have long relied on Ixia, and we’re proud to work with SnapRoute to help companies move quickly into the cloud.”

The demonstrations, available to attendees in booth C21, will reveal the performance of SnapRoute’s FlexSwitch network operating system, running on the Wedge 100 Switch. Also included is Ixia‘s comprehensive network infrastructure performance testing solution, IxNetwork®, running on Ixia’s innovative Novus™ High-Density 100GbE Load Module. Demonstrations will cover:

  1. Access and visibility with telemetry streaming and analytics
  2. On-the-fly micro-services updates without disrupting the network
  3. High scale BGP performance and convergence over ECMP (Equal-Cost Multi-Path)

“Network operators are constantly seeking ways to create higher value and greater differentiation from their infrastructure. Ixia’s world-class test suite with SnapRoute’s modern open network operating system supporting OCP hardware enables the operators’ quest for reliability, faster feature deployment and customization. SnapRoute is excited to partner with Ixia to help operators on their journey with a custom network operating system on OCP hardware,” stated Jason Forrester, SnapRoute CEO.
