LOWELL, Ark., October 27, 2015 - J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT), one of the largest transportation companies in North America, honored its long-serving drivers with a ceremony at J.B. Hunt corporate headquarters in Lowell, Arkansas and Embassy Suites in Rogers, Arkansas on Tuesday, October
27. This event was in recognition of drivers who have driven between one and four million safe miles during their employment at J.B. Hunt. This event featured NASCAR Hall of Fame champion Richard Petty and the National Anthem Girl, Janine Stange. This year, 53 drivers participated in the event. In total, these drivers have driven 112,504,522 safe miles for J.B. Hunt.
'Our drivers are the backbone of this company, and J.B. Hunt Transport has, without a doubt, the most skilled and dedicated drivers in the business,' said Craig Harper, Executive Vice President of Operations. 'Each year we take time to honor drivers who have traveled more than a million miles in their careers with us. This year we were thrilled to celebrate their momentous accomplishment with a legend such as Richard Petty and a singers as talented as Janine Stange and Richie McDonald.'
Drivers and their families had an opportunity to meet and take photos with founder Johnelle Hunt, who also spoke at the banquet. She recalled stories about her late husband, J.B. Hunt, and thanked the drivers for their service to the company. Tuesday's main event followed a Monday evening banquet for the drivers with entertainment provided by Richie McDonald of the country music band Lonestar and Stange.
