Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today the successful delivery of engineering and consulting services for a new elevated highway linkage in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 2012, Jacobs was appointed by Malaysian Resources Corp Berhad (MRCB) to provide traffic engineering, traffic modelling and detailed engineering design services. A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction phase of the project was held last month, and construction is expected to be complete by 2017.

When complete, the elevated highway linkage will connect Old Klang Road with the New Pantai Expressway in Kuala Lumpur to help ease traffic congestion and provide convenient access to MRCB’s mixed use development on Old Klang Road.

The bridge and elevated highway linkage are part of MRCB’s 9 Seputeh project, situated on 7.04 hectares along the third mile of Old Klang Road. The 9 Seputeh project comprises signature retail and commercial components, residential units and small office home office suites.

Commenting on this delivery milestone, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon said, “Jacobs has a proven track record in providing concept and detailed design services for many construction projects like this around the world. We were delighted to be able to leverage our global experience on this project and extend our long term relationship with MRCB.”

Jacobs is one of the world’s largest and most diverse providers of technical professional and construction services.
