Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it received the Prime Supplier of the Year award from the Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council (SRMSDC) at the Impact Awards Gala in New Orleans, La.

Jacobs received the award for its robust use and support of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs). The award was a direct result of nominations from clients and MBEs, who cited Jacobs’ continuing efforts to work with diverse suppliers in helping its clients reach their goals on a wide variety of projects.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Mike Autrey stated, “In order to provide superior value to our clients around the world, we augment our staff with suppliers and vendors that align with our high standards of ethics and integrity, and that enhance our project teams and strengthen our capabilities. We are committed to promoting supplier diversity and inclusion, and are very proud to receive this award recognizing that commitment.”

The SRMSDC is an organization that assists major corporations in the development and enhancement of their minority vendor and supplier programs. Each year, the SRMSDC hosts an expo and matchmaking event that provides MBEs the opportunity to network and interface directly with members of corporate purchasing groups.

Jacobs is one of the world's largest and most diverse providers of technical professional and construction services.
