JAFCO Co., Ltd. has announced that JAFCO-managed funds (JAFCO SV5 Investment Limited Partnership and JAFCO SV5-STAR Investment Limited Partnership; hereafter collectively referred to as "JAFCO"), acquired the entire stake in Omicale Inc. (based in Okayama Prefecture; hereinafter "the Company") through a stock transfer from Mr. Makoto Haba and Ms. Kyoko Haba.

The Company operates Omicale, a portal site for "marriage hunting" and matchmaking parties. Omicale has established itself as a leading portal providing information on over 30,000 "marriage hunting" and matchmaking parties for more than 150,000 members (as of October 2017).

In line with the rapid growth in the use of "marriage hunting" services, typified by marriage hunting parties, the number of couples who met and got married through these services is rising. As a market leader operating the largest portal site, the Company is expected to play a proactive role in boosting the number of marriages/ decreasing the percentage of unmarried people, and eventually contribute to an improvement in birth rate.

JAFCO has acquired all shares in Omicale Inc. to support the growth of a reborn company and allow further expansion in the number of Omicale users.
