JAPAN AIRLINES CO., LTD. TOKYO August 22, 2016:JAL Group(JAL)today announced passenger traffic results for the Japanese summer vacation period that spanned from August10to August21, 2016.JALcarried a total of331,078passengers on its international flights during the 12-day stretch, and a total of 1,406,496passengers domestically.
With0.1%moreseats offered on international routes this year, the number of passengers carried by JAL to and from overseas rose2.0%,leading to raise the seatload factor1.7 points to92.2%compared to the same period last year.JAL also operated a total offourextraflights between Tokyo (Narita) and Honolulu,and onecharteredflightbetween Narita and Honoluluduring this peak season.
Domestically,the number of passengers increased 5.2%in comparison to the same period last year. The overall load factor rose by approx. 5.3 percentage points to 85.5%. JAL also operated80extra flights, mainly to popular destinations likeOkinawa and Sapporoduring this summer vacation.
