Japanese Domestic Cigarette Sales Results for May 2014 (Preliminary Report)

Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) (TSE: 2914) announced today a preliminary report of the Company's Japanese domestic cigarette sales results for May 2014.

The above figures are preliminarily reported on a management basis.
The Company proposes to change the closing date of its accounting period from March 31 to December 31, subject to the approval of the partial amendments to the Company's Articles of Incorporation at the Company's 29th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders scheduled for June 24, 2014 and approval by the Minister of Finance pursuant to the Japan Tobacco Inc. Act. Consequently, year-to-date figures are calculated from January 1.
