JSW conducted analysis related to the launch of extraction on Saturdays in the best walls. The aim is one - to increase coking coal output.

- It's not about introducing work in all the mines on Saturdays on by all means. It is just about the flexibility to react to market needs. We only want to increase the extraction of coking coal. We want mining on Saturdays to be carried out only in the most efficient walls, and therefore where it really pays off. It must also be beneficial for the crew, so reasonable principles of remuneration for the extra day of work must be worked out with the unions. Talks with unions are not easy, but I see great understanding on their part for the company's situation and dedication to its rescue - says Edward Szlęk, president of JSW.

The increase in coal output associated with the possible introduction of additional mining on Saturdays in some of the walls, is estimated at 1.2 million tonnes per year, which translates into a significant increase in company revenues and better utilization of machines working underground.
