LOWELL, ARKANSAS, October 20, 2014 - J. B. Hunt Transport, Inc. (NASDAQ: JBHT) announced today it has again received recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a SmartWay Excellence Award winner. The award is bestowed on freight and supply chain carriers for their dedication to energy efficiency and decreased overall carbon dioxide emissions.

J.B. Hunt has stood at the forefront of environmentally friendly transportation, owning and operating the largest fleet of 53' stackable containers in the world. On August 8th, 2014, the company moved its one millionth intermodal load of the year, effectively preventing 1,550,000 tons of CO2 emissions and removing the equivalent of 305,000 passenger vehicles from American highways for the year. Furthermore, J.B. Hunt's proprietary CLEAN Transport™ carbon calculator allows customers to measure and track their footprints, and identify opportunity for intermodal conversion.
