J.P. Morgan recently joined with the South Korea-based nonprofit the Hope Institute to launch the Hope Center for Social Entrepreneurs, the first training center for social entrepreneurs and professionals in South Korea.

Despite the growing number of social enterprises and a more favorable environment for social entrepreneurship in South Korea, there continues to be a significant need for training programs for those looking to start and successfully run their own businesses.

J.P. Morgan's funding enabled the Hope Institute to design and facilitate diverse training programs for different groups of social entrepreneurs, incubators and policy makers and, as a result, improve their sustainability and create more jobs in Korea. In the long run, the Hope Center for Social Entrepreneurs will function as the center of a problem-solving network among trainees, intermediate support organizations and local governments.
