Chase Mortgage Banker and Orlando, Fla. resident, Cynthia Ballard was recently featured in an HGTV.com web video entitled “My New Hometown.”

In the video, Ballard showcased the up-and-coming town of Altamonte Springs, Fla. and talked about how passionate she is about her job. “I love helping people make probably the largest purchase they’ll ever make in their life,” Ballard said.

With over 40 years at Chase, Ballard has helped many homebuyers to purchase their dream homes, and she works hard to ensure that her customers are as well-equipped with knowledge about the homebuying process as possible.

Ballard wants her customers to make sure they’ll be comfortable with their monthly payments, considering a variety of circumstances. “If it’s a couple buying a home, I suggest they discuss how the payment will impact their family if one income goes away,” she said.

One thing that helps Ballard help her customers is the My New HomeSM suite of educational materials from Chase, including a mobile app, YouTube Channel, webinars and other online materials. These materials, which can be found at www.chase.com/mynewhome, give homebuyers the power of information, a thing many recent homebuyers felt they lacked during the process of buying their homes according to a recent survey released by Chase.

The “What I Wish I Knew About the Homebuying Process” survey found that 90 percent of homebuyers felt prepared when they bought their home. However, 56 percent wish they had more knowledge about the financial aspects of purchasing a home, including closing, negotiating offers and financing options.

Lisa Foradori, chief marketing officer for Chase Mortgage Banking said that this was the primary reason that Chase is committed to continuously improving, enhancing and updating their materials. “We created our My New Home app, online educational materials and YouTube Channel to give buyers a primer on what to expect.”

Ballard uses these tools to help her customers avoid surprises every day. “The calculator determines an estimate of what their income will allow them to buy,” she said.

Proud of her long history at Chase, Ballard is also excited about the future. “I want people to know that every day is an exciting new day and that I am a lender they can depend on to help them make the right decision regarding financing their home.”
