"Idaho Virtual Academy is a terrific choice for families that want to get more engaged in their child's education," said Kelly Edginton, Head of School at IDVA. "Some students need more time to grasp a concept and some thrive on a faster pace. By individualizing the learning plan we give students what they need to succeed academically."

Students who enroll at IDVA follow an academic program that includes engaging web-based lessons along with age-appropriate instructional materials - books, videos, and other hands-on tools and resources - which are shipped directly to each student's home. IDVA teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, and regularly interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. Teachers also organize numerous field trips and school activities where students have the opportunity to participate in events that blend academics and socialization.

The rigorous and engaging curriculum includes courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, world languages, art and music. High school students can take Honors and Advanced Placement® courses as well as electives designed to help them prepare for college and future careers. IDVA graduates receive a high school diploma that meets all state requirements.

High school students can also take advantage of IDVA's concurrent enrollment program that allows them to take college level courses through local universities and community colleges and earn both high school and college credit.

IDVA is still accepting enrollments for this fall. Online information sessions are being held throughout the month. For more information on the school, to find upcoming informational events or to enroll, visit http://idva.k12.com.
