Kansas Virtual Academy (KSVA), an accredited online public school program of the Spring Hill School District, begins its 2017-18 school year on August 14. KSVA is open to students statewide in kindergarten through sixth grade.

KSVA serves families who seek alternatives to traditional brick-and-mortar education. Through live and recorded class sessions that are accessed online, students and their teachers can engage and interact as if they were sitting together in a traditional classroom.

KSVA’s mission is to help students discover, develop and achieve their maximum learning potential, and the online environment allows students to work at their own pace within parameters, giving them time to progress faster in subjects at which they excel, while spending more time on subjects and lessons where they need more help.

“Many students need this online education environment to make sure they can learn in the ways that are right for them,” said Ashley Fryer, a middle school science and health teacher at Kansas Virtual Academy. “Every school day, we demonstrate together how we can leverage technology to enhance learning for all types of students, including those who have not succeeded at brick-and-mortar schools. Virtual learning allows each of my students to show their unique brilliance.”

KSVA teachers are dedicated to helping students successfully complete core subjects in a learning style that works best for them. Teachers leverage a curriculum that is both intuitive and challenging. By providing support virtually, over the phone and in person, teachers ensure that students and their families are supported yet challenged.

KSVA is still accepting enrollments for this fall. To learn more, visit http://ksva.k12.com.
