North Carolina Virtual Academy (NCVA), an online public school option available to students statewide in Kindergarten through 12th grade is now accepting enrollments for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Available tuition-free to students statewide, NCVA offers a robust online curriculum and a personalized approach to learning.

At NCVA, students receive the support and resources they need to pursue and reach their academic goals. The school combines online instruction, rigorous curriculum and the support of North Carolina-licensed teachers to provide a unique learning experience for each student.

Students are offered a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music. Electives include world languages, high school honors and Advanced Placement® courses. NCVA also offers the Career & College Promise program for students with a desire to advance their education through dual enrollment in participating community colleges and universities, earning college credits along with their high school diploma.

“NCVA is supportive and encouraging of all its students,” says Kat Robinson of Reidsville, whose two sons attend the online school. “The teachers are focused on giving them the best education possible, and as parents we receive tremendous support in navigating the virtual learning environment.”

Students and families communicate regularly with teachers via phone, email and one-to-one virtual meetings. Students are provided with a unique approach to learning that helps prepare them for post-graduation career and college success.

Outside of the online classroom, NCVA offers students virtual clubs and in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social gatherings to foster a sense of school community, including in-person National Honor Society events and a graduation ceremony in the spring.
