Pikes Peak Online School (PPOS), an accredited online public school program, welcomes families to enroll for the 2018-19 school year. PPOS provides high school students across the state with the opportunity to get back on track academically.

The school’s comprehensive education approach focuses on providing struggling students in grades 9-12 with the academic, social and emotional support needed to reach graduation. In the event that a student is deficient in course credit, the school’s extensive credit recovery courses allow a student to get back on track for a successful graduation.

Students take benchmark assessments at the beginning of the school year to identify strengths and challenges, and the results are used to develop an individually tailored learning plan for each student. For many, this Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) expands beyond current academic objectives to include post-secondary goals for college or a career.

Additionally, the online curriculum is bolstered by a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, as well as a family support team to help students achieve success both academically and personally.

“At Pikes Peak, we believe that each student has promise, and our promise to them is that we will provide additional support and do whatever it takes to help the student get their diploma,” said Nicole Tiley, head of school at Pikes Peak Online School. “Our school is designed to help students succeed no matter how they learn, and we want to help them find the right next step for them so that they can be on their way to success.”

Through live and recorded class sessions that are accessed online, students and their teachers can engage and interact as if they were sitting together in a traditional classroom. Each student is supported by state-certified teachers who monitor student progress while providing professional insight and instruction. Teachers communicate with students via phone, email and the online classroom technology in order to provide a personalized approach that helps prepare students for future success. Teachers aim to establish a partnership with parents, so students benefit from a strong network of support.

During the enrollment period, PPOS will be conducting online and in-person information sessions throughout the state. Interested families are encouraged to attend to meet teachers, staff and other families and learn more about the award-winning online curriculum provided by K12.
