Tennessee Virtual Academy (TNVA), an online public school program of Union County Public Schools, welcomes families with students in kindergarten through eighth grade to enroll for the 2017-18 academic year. Open to all students who reside in Tennessee, TNVA offers an individualized approach to learning to ensure every student receives an exceptional learning experience.

TNVA combines online instruction and hands-on curriculum with the support of state-licensed teachers. TNVA provides a rigorous, engaging curriculum, including core courses in English/language arts, math, science and history—plus electives in art, music, and world languages. The lesson plans for each subject are integrated, so students may read literature from the same time period as an art or history lesson.

“As we head into this new school year, we’re excited to engage new families in our individualized approach to learning,” said Josh Williams, head of school at Tennessee Virtual Academy. “The online learning experience we provide at TNVA respects each student’s individual learning style, encourages students to accelerate in the subjects at which they excel and, at the same time, offers remediation in the subjects where it’s needed.”

TNVA’s teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, interacting with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. As a public school option, there is no tuition.

TNVA is now accepting enrollments for the 2017-18 school year. Parents are encouraged to attend one of the online information sessions hosted by the school each month. More information on TNVA and upcoming events can be found at http://tnva.k12.com/.
