Kao Corporation today released its Sustainability Report 2016 highlighting progress made in 2015 against The Kao Sustainability Statement.
The full report is available on Kao's website and the highlights of Kao's representative activities have been published in booklet form.
The Kao Group aims to achieve both 'profitable growth' and 'contributions to the sustainability of the world' by helping to tackle social issues. This report describes the actions Kao has taken in its business activities to make contributions in the three key areas defined in the Kao Sustainability Statement: Conservation, Community, and Culture.

• Conservation
Kao strives to reduce CO2 emissions across the entire product lifecycle and also conserve biodiversity in consideration of local ecosystems as well as reduce the impacts of its business activities on biodiversity.

• Community
Kao conducts activities that benefit society such as hand washing education that advances public health. Kao also contributes to the health of world's people by supporting health promotion initiatives in partnership with local governments and NPOs.
In consideration for the diversity of consumers, Kao continues to promote universal design in its products and services.

• Culture
Kao strives to promote understanding of its corporate philosophy, the Kao Way, and works to cultivate a corporate culture of integrity among employees.
Kao endeavors to advance the sustainable sourcing of raw materials in consideration of the environment and human rights.
