GREENVILLE, S.C., July 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- KEMET Corporation (NYSE: KEM), a leading manufacturer of tantalum, ceramic, aluminum, film, paper and electrolytic capacitors, today announced it was granted ten United States patents in fiscal year 2012. KEMET honored patent recipients, as well as others who participated in the patent process, during its annual Patent Awards Luncheon on June 21, 2012. Plaques representing the ten new patents joined those already on display on the Patent Wall at KEMET's U.S. Innovation Center in Simpsonville, South Carolina. KEMET employees currently hold 96 active U.S. patents.

Also honored at the Patents Awards Luncheon were John McConnell and Dr. John Bultitude from the Ceramic Business Group, who were named Co-Inventors of the Year. This award is presented annually to inventors in recognition of their significant record of invention and innovation. Both McConnell and Bultitude continue to make contributions to new and innovative ideas in Ceramic Specialty Products, which is key to overall growth in Ceramic Business Group revenue. A poster in honor of both McConnell and Bultitude hangs near the Patent Wall.
