Kemper Corporation (NYSE: KMPR) announced today that Michael A. Plazony will join the company as President of the Kemper Home Service Companies business, which provides life and other insurance products to policyholders in their homes. Plazony will report directly to Mark A. Green, Kemper’s Life & Health division President and will be based in St. Louis. In conjunction with this change, Kemper announced that Thomas D. Myers will be leaving the company.

Plazony is a seasoned business executive who brings significant life insurance experience to this role. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President of Erie Family Life at Erie Insurance Group, where he oversaw all aspects of the strategic growth of the life insurance business. His prior roles include executive positions with Destiny Health Insurance, Bankers Life & Casualty, Caremark, Trustmark and Travelers Insurance. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Indiana University.
