The campaign opens on 14 December, and the familiar collection kettles appear on the streets and in various K-food stores across the country on 15 December. The campaign will end on 23 December.

This is the 111th year the Salvation Army organises its Christmas Kettle ('Joulupata') collection, which has become an important Christmas tradition for many people. It also has an important role in K Group's corporate responsibility work.

The funds raised are used to distribute food, clothing and K Group gift vouchers to low income families and people at risk of social marginalisation. In addition, the Salvation Army organises family and children's camps as well as various hobby and club activities.

The Salvation Army primarily asks for monetary donations as money can best be directed towards helping people. In some areas, people can also bring clean, intact clothes and items needed in families with children to kettles guarded by volunteers.

The donated funds will be used locally to help people in each region. Kettle locations can be found at joulupata.fi.
