K-citymarket is the world's first hypermarket chain to begin selling The Body Shop's products.

'Finland has a special cosmetics market in European terms. A large proportion of cosmetics are sold in hypermarkets. Right now, Kesko is investing in overhauling the K-citymarket chain - particularly the beauty departments. We see this as a suitable opportunity for The Body Shop to work with Kesko,' says Aarno Pohtola, Managing Director of The Body Shop.

'Ethical business is the cornerstone of The Body Shop's operations. Kesko has been selected as the world's most responsible company in the trading sector for several years running, so it is natural for us to work together,' Pohtola continues.

K-citymarkets are now selling the seasonal Christmas range of body butters and shower gels. The selection will expand next year when more popular body butter products, shower gels and body fragrances go on sale.

'Natural cosmetics are constantly gaining in popularity, and consumers are interested in how ethical and ecological products are. Customers would like to see more of The Body Shop's plant-based products in our selections,' says Johanna Kontio, K-Citymarket Chain Director.

The beauty departments in K-citymarkets were renovated in the autumn, and all of the stores in the chain will be revamped by the end of 2018. The aim is to create 80 different K-citymarkets with product selections and services that reflect their customer bases.
