The Finnish Cancer Foundation's (Syöpäsäätiö) annual Pink Ribbon (Roosa nauha) collection began on 28 September. The campaign wants to raise awareness of difficult to treat breast cancers, which require significant investments in research. The objective is to raise 1.8 million euros, which would help bring us closer to the goal of no one dying of breast cancer in future. The campaign theme this year is 'For courage'. The campaign is supported by The Dudesons, who are also responsible for this year's slightly manlier ribbon design.

Pink Ribbons can be bought in all K-food stores

K-food stores wish to contribute even more to the fight against cancer this year. Last year, they raised 262,000 euros for the cause, and this year's target has been set at 400,000 euros.

'We want to help advance high-quality Finnish research and offer our customers an easy way to contribute,' says Ari Akseli, Vice President of K Group's grocery trade division.

In addition to K-Citymarkets and K-Supermarkets, this year Pink Ribbons are sold for the first time also in all approximately 800 K-Markets and 70 Neste K service stations. In support of the campaign, 14 Pirkka Pink Ribbon products have been launched and are sold in all K-food stores.

K-food stores will offer 14 Pirkka Pink Ribbon campaign products, which is more than last year. The products can be purchased between 2 and 22 October 2017.

'These are everyday products that bring joy to people and support a healthy and balanced diet. This year, there is increased focus on special diets: campaign products include gluten-free rice pasties and fish patties as well as fava bean balls that suit vegetarians,' says Akseli.

The collaboration with the Finnish Cancer Foundation supports the objectives of Kesko's corporate responsibility work. K-food stores want to be a part of the everyday life of Finns, and to promote a good and healthy lifestyle.
