Kier : appointed to £750m Gatwick Airport frameworks

The appointment to both low and medium complexity frameworks will help Gatwick deliver its £1.2bn capital investment programme, running up to 2021. This will result in the expansion of both the North and South terminals, specifically expanding the South terminal immigration halls as well as undertaking surface access road improvements.

The two frameworks each include three lots (building, civils and M&E). Kier has been appointed to the medium complexity framework for building and for civils projects between £1m and £10m and then on the low complexity framework for building projects of up to £1.5m.

We have extensive experience in delivering vital airport infrastructure projects and have a long-standing history with Gatwick having constructed the North terminal in 1988.

Gatwick has the busiest single runway in the world and currently operates 450 daily departures to more than 50 long haul destinations.

Currently on site delivering a Flight Training School in Lincolnshire, which will provide the facilities to train the next generation of pilots, Kier also provided a new flight simulator and hangar for Ryanair at Stansted Airport in 2008.

Kier is also building the £19m Bristol Aerospace Centre which, when complete, will be home to the world-famous Concorde 216, the last of its type to fly.
