Kinepolis Group today acquired the French cinema Mégaroyal, a 12-screen complex with around 2,100 seats, located in Bourgoin-Jallieu, 35km east of Lyon. Until today, the complex was owned and run by Mr and Mrs Derobert. Mégaroyal currently welcomes around 600,000 visitors per year.

Eddy Duquenne, CEO Kinepolis Group: "I am delighted with this acquisition. At 600,000 visitors a year, Mégaroyal is one of the biggest independent cinemas in France. This, alongside the fact that we both acquired the real estate and took on the running of the cinema, gives us the ideal recipe for the eighth Kinepolis complex in France, Kinepolis Bourgoin."

This acquisition, together with the previously announced construction of a new complex in Brétigny-sur-Orge (near Paris), will enable Kinepolis to strengthen its position on the French market and offer more visitors than ever the ultimate movie experience.
