Optiv Security, a market-leading provider of end-to-end cyber security solutions, today announced it has named Peter Evans as chief marketing officer (CMO) and Sean Catlett to a newly-created role of senior vice president of emerging services, two key appointments that support the company’s global business growth strategy. Evans will be responsible for all aspects of marketing strategy and execution, and Catlett will focus on the incubation of cutting-edge offerings in areas such as cloud, next generation security operations and big data analytics. The two executives bring to Optiv significant business and cyber security industry experience to help drive innovation that enables clients to optimize security investments to get maximum efficacy while reducing cost.

“In the last two decades, organizations have invested enormous amounts of money in technology, services and manpower to address cyber security concerns, yet they are challenged to keep pace with internal and external threats,” said Tim Hoffman, executive vice president of worldwide client solutions. “Optiv is in a unique position to help clients optimize and rationalize their current investments, enabling them to create clarity out of the chaos and lay solid groundwork for future cyber security requirements. I am excited to welcome Peter and Sean to Optiv, and am confident that their insight and industry knowledge will be instrumental as our company enters its next phase of growth, global expansion and industry leadership.”

Previously, Evans has been CMO of four publically held companies, and held senior executive roles in operations, business development, and sales leadership at publically traded companies such as HP, Dell and IBM. He also served as chief executive officer (CEO) of two successful venture-backed start-up technology companies. Evans brings to Optiv domain expertise in high-growth technology businesses in the cyber security, business-to-business software, cloud and telecom industries.

Prior to joining Optiv, Catlett was the CEO of Pharos Security, a startup focused on security investment ROI analysis. He also served as senior vice president of detection and response for Fidelity Investments, was chief operations officer for iSIGHT Partners, and held chief information security officer (CISO) and other executive roles at Betfair, Barclays Bank in London and Bank of America. Prior to his work in cyber security, Catlett was vice president of technology for Streamwaves, the first legal online subscription streaming music service to license all five major record labels. He holds four U.S. patents in cyber security control framework development, data loss prevention, intrusion detection and e-crime detection.
