Knowit publ : The State Treasury selects Knowit as its quality partner

The Finnish State Treasury has selected Knowit as its supplier for testing and quality control of its ICT services. When the State Treasury reviews and digitalizes its services and processes, testing and quality assurance are a central, critical aspect. Knowit's assignment runs from 2016 through 2019.

One of the State Treasury's goals with its digital development is to centralize all compensation-related operations in a single system, with Knowit in charge of system quality assurance. In future, the collaboration will focus on planning and governing quality and automation.

Knowit will also produce testing services, such as testing of individual programs and computer software, handle planning, management and reporting in connection with testing of large system projects, as well as test automation.

- The role of the State Treasury within central government requires high quality, both in our systems and in our services. We believe that it is possible to guarantee sufficient quality only by systematic quality management of software combined with the right quality culture, as well as by increasing the degree of automation in quality assurance of software projects, says Tomi Poikola, head of IT at the State Treasury.

The State Treasury put the testing services out to tender in the Testing Service category of the government's central purchasing body Hansel's framework agreement for IT consultation 2015-2019. In addition to testing services, Knowit is also a Hansel framework agreement supplier in the Application/Software Services and Maintenance category as well as in the Solution Development and Maintenance category.

The State Treasury is the Ministry of Finance's most important partner with regard to the implementation of central government steering in Finland. The State Treasury produces and develops internal services for central government organizations. Another central operating field for the State Treasury is to produce services for individual citizens and companies.
