KONAMI : eSports Tournament to Bring Heated Battles to Makuhari Messe!

KONAMI is proud to announce that over a four-day period starting Thursday, September 21, it will bring e-Sports to its booth at Tokyo Game Show 2017*1, which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.

A multiday exhibition eSports event will be held for "SUPER BOMBERMAN R", an action game available for the Nintendo Switch™ console. The event will be exciting multi player battles that harnessed the title's fun-packed multiplayer mode.

On Sunday, August 13, the company held Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2017 for the game "Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS", a title that has been downloaded over 50 million times worldwide. Top duelist from the championship, Samson Yoshida from Japan, will play an exhibition match.

Among the company's baseball titles, plans call for holding an eSports event for its mobile title "PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL SPIRITS A (ACE)". The title is one of the games to be played at the Pawapuro Championships 2017, an eSports tournament officially recognized by the Nippon Professional Baseball Organization (NPB).

For its Pro Evolution Soccer series, the company has already announced that it will be holding PES League World Tour 2018, an official eSports world championship. It will include an eSports event for its latest console game in the series "Winning Eleven 2018". And at e-Sports X, an eSports tournament officially sponsored by Tokyo Game Show 2017, exhibition matches will be held with top players from across Japan.
