KONE has won an order to deliver 32 eco-efficient elevators to a new residential high-rise development Noble Ploenchit in Bangkok, Thailand. KONE's solutions will be delivered to four buildings - three towers with luxury condominiums and one office building - to provide smooth and exclusive People FlowTM without the bother of walking through the common area to the residents and office workers. The highest building rises to 185 meters.

Space-efficiency and privacy in the surrounding energetic city center  were an important part of the building design and KONE was involved in the early stages by offering its space saving solutions to meet the customer requirements. The order includes 20 KONE MiniSpaceTM elevators with a compact machine room; the majority of the elevators will be for the residents' private use. MiniSpace  elevators are especially suited for high-rise buildings, and they will travel at a speed of 4 m/s taking residents from the lobby to the 50th floor in approximately one minute. They come equipped with regenerative drives which recover the energy from ascending and descending elevators. The order includes an additional 12 KONE 3000S MonoSpace elevators, which do not require a machine room. All the elevators lifted by the energy-efficient KONE EcoDisc® hoisting machine, and the KONE E-Link monitoring system will help ensure a high service level of the equipment.

The building complex is developed by Noble Development (Noble Development, 900 Ploenchit Road, Pathumwan Bangkok 10330, Thailand. www.noblehome.com). Inspired by Le Corbusier's idea of a vertical garden city, Noble Ploenchit has been designed by IAW and the main contractor is Bouygues-Thai Ltd. The building is expected to be completed in 2015. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2012.
