Duco Sickinghe new chairman and Jolande Sap new member of Supervisory Board of KPN

Today, the Supervisory Board of Royal KPN N.V. ("KPN") announces that Mr Duco Sickinghe will succeed Mr Jos Streppel as the new chairman of the Supervisory Board as of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders ("AGM") on 15 April 2015. Mr Streppel will step down as chairman and member of the Supervisory Board at the closing of the AGM when his third and final term terminates. Mr Sickinghe has extensive knowledge in the fields of telecommunications, technology, media and innovation, which he gained in particular during his tenure as CEO of Telenet (Belgium), as a former director of CETV (Central Media Enterprise) and his career at NeXT Computer and HP. Mr Sickinghe has been a member of the Supervisory Board of KPN since 9 April 2014.

Next to Mr Streppel, Ms Hooymans will also step down at the end of her second term at the AGM. The Supervisory Board nominates, taking due account of the profile of the Supervisory Board, Ms Jolande Sap for appointment as member of the Supervisory Board. Ms Sap currently chairs the Supervisory Board of Arkin, a mental healthcare institution and is a partner of cultural leadership firm Camunico. Ms Sap has extensive knowledge of and experience in the public sector and in Dutch politics having served as party leader and Parliamentary group leader of political party GroenLinks in the Dutch House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) during 2010-2012. The nomination for the position in the Supervisory Board of KPN was subject to the enhanced right of recommendation of the Central Works Council, which recommended Ms Sap's nomination.

KPN's Supervisory Board is currently considering the possible nomination of a further member of its Board, which would then keep its membership at eight. Any announcements in this respect will be made if and when relevant.

The Supervisory Board and the Board of Management are grateful to Mr Streppel and Ms Hooymans for their valuable contribution to the company over the past years. During his 12 year tenure, as member of the Supervisory Board, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and - during the past 5 years - as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr Streppel helped guide KPN through a transformational period. His dedication, combined with his extensive business, financial and governance experience has been highly valuable to KPN. Ms Hooymans has, during her eight year term as member of the Supervisory Board and both the Remuneration Committee and the Nominating Committee, supported the company with her knowledge of technology and innovation, with a particular focus on the position of our employees.
