CINCINNATI, Jan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- When was the last time you paid under $1.00 to gas up your car?

For many customers of The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) family of stores, the answer is "Today!" thanks to fuel points combined with the current low price of retail fuel in many parts of the country.

"Customers are seeing prices at the pump that we haven't seen in years," said Mike Donnelly, Kroger's senior vice president of merchandising. "Combine that with all the ways you can save on fuel at Kroger, and many of our customers are filling their tanks for less than a dollar per gallon at our pumps. Fuel points are one of the ways we say thank you to our loyal customers every day."

The company currently operates more than 2,000 fuel center locations in 37 states, making it easy to take advantage of the additional savings.
