Partnership with Cubo Itaú
Belo Horizonte, June 19, 2018, Kroton Educacional S.A. (B3: KROT3; OTCQX: KROTY) - - "Kroton" or "Company" hereby informs its shareholders, investors and the market about its partnership with Cubo Itaú, the largest technological entrepreneurship space in Latin America. The partnership will create the vertical "Cubo Education," a space dedicated to fostering edtech companies, and will focus on adding technological value and knowledge to the development of education in Brazil. By combining Kroton's experience in education and Cubo Itaú's capacity to create structured startups centers, the companies plan to build a center for creating and distributing content combined with the use of disruptive educational technologies.
This partnership is part of the strategic planning of the Company, aimed at making Kroton the world's most digital educational company. Kroton's digital transformation plan encompasses a change in its organizational culture, bringing a new way of working, in addition to investments in processes that enhance students' experience and the value proposition offered to them. By establishing close contact with startups, Kroton not only fosters the educational technology market, but also supports the discovery of new mechanisms that will transform the future of its students by offering solutions that are better adapted to the needs of the job market. This partnership will also give students the opportunity to experience the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship inherent to this market.
Kroton will occupy an entire floor dedicated to education at the Cubo Itaú building, which will be inaugurated early next semester. This space will be an edtech incubator and accelerator, besides housing learning spaces, studios for recording videos and classrooms designed for testing innovative formats, methodologies and technologies. A part of Kroton's innovation team will be allocated to this space, to manage relations with edtechs, monitor the progress of projects and identify potential opportunities.
