Belo Horizonte, September 22, 2015 - Kroton Educational S.A. ("Kroton" or "Company") - (BM&FBovespa: KROT3; OTCQX: KROTY) - in compliance with CVM Instruction 358/2002, as amended, hereby informs its shareholders, investors and the market that it vehemently denies all information published in the Radar on-line column of the magazine Veja on the night of Monday, September 21.
As for the Student Financing Fund (FIES) program, Kroton reiterates that it strictly follows the eligibility rules established by Brazil's Ministry of Education (MEC) and has always adopted the best practices - in a transparent manner - in offering and managing the program in accordance with the law. As such, in all routine oversight, control and monitoring by MEC of all educational institutions, including on-site visits and audits, Kroton has always complied with all requirements. Kroton also points out that FIES is an optimum public policy that fosters democratization of education and, very often, serves as the only opportunity to study for thousands of Brazilians who need an effective social program that is, at once, capable of generating value for both the individual and the nation.
Kroton also clarifies that it is a publicly held company, with fragmented shareholding and no defined controlling group, listed in the Novo Mercado segment, the highest level of corporate governance of the BM&FBovespa, with investors in both Brazil and around the world. Contrary to the column's claims, Walfrido dos Mares Guia does not hold any controlling stake in the company, but is only a non-controlling shareholder and a member of the group's Board of Directors. Finally, the company further reiterates that it does not own any aircraft and is not responsible for the use of private aircraft or any other private asset or property by its shareholders and directors.
